So whoa, it's been three months since my last update. Don't feel bad. It's not you...it's me. My tangible journal is very much the same way, with sporadic nonsensical updates every couple months.

April was probably the craziest month of my life. It started out with Matt's juggling festival, then Improvideo, then the fashion show, then the play, then the last week of school, then checkouts, then ushering for graduation. After ushering today, I headed over to the freshman dorm to do RA stuff. I'm on duty tomorrow, along with doing RA office stuff in the freshman dorm, a meeting with my RD, and checking people out. Then the seniors check out on Sunday, and I have to check out on Monday. My first day of real actual do-nothing-all-day summer will be Tuesday, I hope. Unless something pops up. Which it better not. Or I will flip out. I have penciled in some very crucial sitting around time.

As for this summer, I'm staying in New York, and so is Janet! I'm going to be a summer RA on campus. I'm also on conference staff. I have to play hotel maid--changing sheets, setting out towels, and the like. It should be a most excellent summer, especially with so many people staying in the city. We're hoping to do some quality improv, too.

I keep turning around to check the clock that's not there. I used to update my lj when I worked in the computer lab and I constantly turned around to check the time. Except here in the RA office, there is no clock behind me. Now I associate lj with turning around every 30 seconds. Hmmm. Come to think of it, turning around so much probably caused me to miss a lot of ID-less people.

That's about as condensed as it gets. Bring on my uninterrupted lazy summer...I am SO ready!

I got back to my room this afternoon and discovered that pieces of the bathroom ceiling had fallen onto the toilet. When Jodie and I first turned on the bathroom faucet, brown water came out of it. We flipped out and determined that it was like we were in a bad movie where a couple purchases a house only to discover what bad shape it's in. If we stayed in the bad movie, we'd have kooky adventures trying to repair it.

Where is Jodie, anyway? She was supposed to be back like fifty years ago.

A bunch of people came back to school today, so my floor is bustling. I've already been called upon to open people's doors who forgot keys and to do something about the lack of heat. I really can't do anything about the heat! I wish I had a magic heat key but I only have door keys.

I chose a Super Mario Brothers theme for the floor, and I feel pretty awesome about it. I found pictures of Mario as a frog and in the Tanooki suit. Awesome, you say? Yeah, I know.

I really don't want classes to start. I've been having too much fun doing nothing! I'm still recovering from the chaos of last semester.

I always dread when people come to me with their computer problems, because I, 99% of the time, cannot help them. I often say, "I'm a writing major. All I know is Word."

So get this...one of my favorite EDS Lab guys came to the desk and goes, "I have a question." My face scrunched up in an "Uh oh" look and I said, "I'll try to help you." (Emphasis on try.) He goes, "I'm using Word" (my face brightened up) "and when I insert things, the letters type over what I just wrote." I was all over that! It was the insert button! THE INSERT BUTTON! I know everything there is to know about that blasted key! I told him about the insert button and pointed it out on the keyboard. "Just click on it once."

As he was leaving to go back to his computer, I said, "Wow, I actually helped someone.
A couple years ago, I saw a TV special called "Holiday at the White House," or something like that. Bush called for his dog, Barney, to come to him and the darling little dog trotted into the room. We thought the puppy would jump into Bush's arms but he ran right by him. SO CUTE!

I remembered this about two seconds ago while reading an article on the Drudge Report about a Barney Christmas video making the rounds at children's hospitals. Some of my favorite lines:

"'Barney Reloaded' provides a dog's eye view of the White House at Christmas. Various Bush administration officials and White House workers are shown imploring Barney to work rather than play."

"In one scene, Barney is shown playing cards with former Bush spokesman Ari Fleischer. Andy Card walks in and scolds him, 'Barney, I told you no games until the decorations were done!'"

"Laura Bush kept mum about what she plans to give the president for Christmas. Asked by Ahbrea Ross, 11, of Capital Heights, Maryland, she said, 'We can't tell. He might see us on TV.'"

This last line especially makes my eyes tear a little. It's either because it's insanely cute or because I'm really tired, and the littlest things make me want to cry.

I tried to go to www.whitehouse.gov to see the video, but alas, computers fail me yet again.

I want a dog just like Barney!

Yes! Yes! I did it! Granted, I didn't do it very well, but my revision is DONE!

I'll be hanging out with Janet and Libby around this time tomorrow. And then Thanksgiving! And I'm not going to think about a single paper (and there are many) until I get back on Sunday night.

As for now, it's time to sit back, watch the "Real World" marathon, and drift off into a beautiful nap.

The weather was perfect today. New York City is perfect.

I'm going to be an RA next semester for the fraternity floor (7th floor pride!) This morning, I went to the RD's room to discuss RA stuff and almost had a heart attack when I saw the view of Manhattan that she has from her window.

Forum was actually informative. Weird...slash awesome.

I ran into Andy and Laura.

Matt and I went to Washington and Dekalb to spy on the filming of 'Sex and the City.' We ended up talking to one of the grips for about half an hour. After a while, I realized that everything I said had to do with their awesome food table. I thought, "Shut up, Lindsay! Shut up! For the love, stop talking about the food!" But alas, I did not. I believe one of the things I said was, "I want to get into television just for the food tables!"

We went to Mike's Diner. Matt had the chicken melt and I had the gyro platter.

Jodie, Matt, and I then watched 'Wet Hot American Summer.' SOOOOO GOOD! IMDB rating is 6.2 (it should be much higher in my opinion).

There should be more days like today.

There are a bunch of trailers and dressing rooms set up right outside my dorm so I asked one of the guys what was going on. He said, "We're filming 'Law and Order.'" He laughed when he noticed how excited I was, but not hard enough to give me a part. 'Law and Order' isn't a comedy anyway...

But can you believe it??? 'Law and Order'!!! Ahhh!

LINDSAY NOUIS IS A WASTE!

I just spent like three hours on IMDB. It's internet crack (like Shae says about AwesomeBaby). I think of random movies and then look them up (The Little Mermaid to Manos to Romeo and Juliet to Princess Diaries to Virgin Suicides to Ever After to Erin Brockovich to Zoolander to Little Women to Peter Pan...) Once I look them up, I click on actors' names to see if they've done anything else. Then I read actor bios, check if they've been nominated or awarded anything, click on other titles, etc. It's a vicious and very delicious cycle.

I saw 'Elf' on Friday and it's so adorable! The IMDB rating is 7.4. I love Will Ferrell in the depths of my soul.
